Our Story
First Impressions
Samantha and Chase's journey began at Ferris State University in 2010, on the first day of school in their Computer Networking class. They were both pursuing majors in Computer Systems and Network Engineering. Over the next two years, their friendship blossomed. They were inseparable – attending classes together, working as lab partners, fixing computers for the school, and even sharing a roof as roommates for a while. Their shared passions and interests laid a strong foundation for their friendship. It wasn’t until a field trip to an ISP that they realized their bond was more than just friendship. That's when they started dating, finding joy in their shared love for technology and work.
First Date
Their first romantic escapade was an evening of watching the not-so-great movie "Tower Heist," coupled with an attempt at cooking. Let's just say their culinary skills were a work in progress – their first meal was noodles with chicken and broccoli, sans sauce! But, as with their relationship, their cooking skills evolved beautifully over time.
Relationship Development
Samantha and Chase's journey took an exciting turn when they both landed jobs in Storage Engineering at Allstate for a summer internship. Living in a hotel, they experienced a life of adventure and togetherness. The following school year, they moved into a quaint one-bedroom house by the Muskegon River in Michigan. However, distance tested their relationship for two years, with Chase in Lowell, Michigan, and Samantha moving between Ohio and Chicagoland. Eventually, she secured a job in Grand Rapids at Spectrum Health, allowing them to reunite and live with Chase’s grandparents, Bonnie and Roger Wall. Their love story took a significant leap in 2018 with their engagement, and in 2022, they bought their home in Ada, Michigan.
The Proposal
The highlight of their journey was their engagement on a Caribbean cruise in January 2018. Chase's proposal was nothing short of a fairytale. During a show similar to the Newlywed Game, Samantha was called on stage to choose between a bottle of Champagne and a hidden prize. She chose the latter, revealing the best surprise - Chase proposing. With a joyful 'yes,' and their friends there to celebrate with them, it was a moment of pure magic.
Looking Ahead
As they look to the future, their dreams are simple yet full of hope. They plan to start a family, continue enhancing their home in Ada, and above all, live a happy and fulfilling life together.
Their story is a blend of love, technology, challenges, and triumph. It's a story of two hearts finding their way to each other in a world of circuits and codes. As they embark on this new chapter, they can't wait to see what the future holds.
